I don't genuinely get excited about new music coming out anymore, there's SO FUCKING MUCH OF IT OUT THERE. I hear a song I like, download, listen a few times, then forget about it because something else catches my ear. I do go back to my favorite bands time and time again, for comfort and joy, for sweet escape to that music's place. I listened to Midlake's last album much more than a few times, and still do even though it's about 4 years old, more or less. And can still find that escape with it, it's still autumn in my cabin in the woods. I'm a bit tingly about this new one. That's a rare occurence anymore, as far as music is concerned. Jesus, I remember waiting in line at a music store for Judas Priest's newest album (and I ain't apologizing for that). Now it's all immediate. Now most of the time I don't even know that an album is dropping, I have to SEARCH for it. Or ITunes tells me. I just happen to check Midlake's site from time to time, so here 'tis.
