Interpol will be releasing a new album the beginning of 2010, but no one is giving a set date yet. Sooner rather than later would be fine by me, and by the sounds of it the new album will be closer in style to their first ('Turn On The Bright Lights') than to 'Our Love To Admire' . Which is also fine by me. They could sell me a toothpaste jingle, but I'd prefer a new album that sounds like their old one. Because it was the best. Album. Ever. But I'm partial. Here is a gratutious pic of Paul Banks doing what he does so so so well: look and sound spicy.
Interpols's drummer Sam Fogarino has revealed how the sound of the LP is a return to that of their 2002 debut album 'Turn On The Bright Lights'.
"The new record falls back towards the first," he told Paste Magazine. He added: "In trying to move forward, there was an unspoken realisation that you can’t let go of your sonic-defining tag." Lets hear it for REVERB.
